The goal of the Emergency Assistance Ministry is to provide financial assistance to families in the community for utilities or rent that are in arrears, to help them avoid utility cut-offs and evictions. This is a program of Emergency Assistance to aid with gas, water, oil, electric cut-off notices or rent eviction notifications for those in need.

We are no longer making appointments. Currently, interviews for emergency financial assistance are held in-person only, on a first come/first serve basis, the 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 8:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M. If you need more information, please call (984)569-3187 and follow the instructions.

2023 Application Intake Dates – 3rd Tuesdays monthly as listed below:

  • November 21st and December 19th

For Application Intake Interviews, Applicants MUST bring evidence of a delinquent bill, such as cut-off notices or eviction notifications on billing company‘s letterhead. Hand written notices will not be accepted, nor will bills be allowed on cell phones, No Exceptions!

The delinquent bill MUST be in the name of the applicant, No Exceptions! Emergency Financial Assistance will be limited to $150.00 for one utility bill or rent payment per household, annually.

Program Guidelines:

This is a program of Emergency Assistance (gas, water, oil, electric (with cut-off notices or rent eviction notices) for those in need.

  1. Applicants must bring evidence of a delinquent bill such as cut-off notices or eviction notices on company letterhead.
  2. Handwritten notices will not be accepted nor will bills be accepted on cell phones. No exceptions!
  3. The delinquent bill must be in the name of the applicant (no exceptions)
  4. Assistance will be limited to $150 for one utility bill or rent payment per household.
  5. Applications will be considered on a yearly basis once every 12 months.
  6. Payments will be made directly to the utility company or landlord.
  7. We are no longer making appointments. We interview for assistance in person only on a first come, first serve basis on the third Tuesday of each month from 8:30 am until 11:00am.
