DISCIPLESHIP DEVELOPMENT

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Through our study programs at White Rock, we support life-long learning and discipleship. Christian education for people of all ages, from pre-school through senior adults, is at the very heart of our church. We strive to ensure that members are nurtured in faith, grow in knowledge and experience, and are inspired and empowered to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. Our goal in Christian Education is to equip members of the Body of Christ to:

  1. Engage the Bible in new ways and with new energy
  2. Have an encounter with a living God who speaks through the Bible
  3. Make scripture a regular part of daily life
  4. Grow into Christ-likeness

New Disciple Orientation

New Disciple Orientation is held every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in the Moore-Kennedy classroom, during our Sunday School hour. The orientation process for New Disciples at White Rock is comprised of seven classes taught by a team of experienced disciples:

  • Personal Salvation
  • Christian Baptism
  • Christian Development
  • Church Ministries and Organizational Polity (Saturday breakfast program)
  • Our Devotion to Christ
  • Our Service to Christ
  • Our Stewardship to Christ

These classes build, encourage, and enhance a Christian’s daily walk and their understanding of the Christian life. It is crucial that we are unified under one vision – the vision of the Pastor and the church. Each new disciple is encouraged to become an enthusiastic student of the Bible, a doer of God’s word and a servant to His church.

New disciples are introduced to the congregation and offered the Right Hand of Fellowship on the next First Sunday after completing the first four classes.
